Together for Adoption is still open and we’re looking for adopters to welcome a child into your home and heart. We have adapted our process in line with government guidelines for the safety of our adopters, so we can continue to support you every step of the way.
Rebecca* started her adoption journey just before the lockdown in March. She said, “As a single applicant, I wasn’t sure if I would even be eligible to start the process of becoming an adopter. It took me a very long time to pluck up the courage to begin to have those conversations for fear of being rejected.
“I had absolutely no reason to feel nervous though because everyone I’ve spoken to has been friendly, supportive and encouraging, which has made the process so far really easy and enjoyable.
“I have been really impressed and appreciative of the level of information, support and communication I have received.
“I got in touch with Together for Adoption just before the first COVID-19 national lockdown in March 2020 and that obviously meant the experience of becoming an adopter had to change. My first home visit was through Skype, but it was not an issue in the slightest. Together for Adoption has been brilliant in dealing with the changing COVID-19 situation and have been in regular contact with me throughout. I don’t think they could possibly do anything different to make this easier for people hoping to adopt.”
