This year You Can Adopt is launching a campaign focused on the message "Every Day is Everything", showing that adoption isn’t about being perfect, it’s about stability and showing up for a child, every day.

The campaign celebrates the everyday moments that make up family life, from the morning rush and mealtimes to bedtime chats and everything in between.

While these moments may seem small, for a child who has experienced uncertainty and instability, having a permanent family and home and someone there each day through life’s ups and downs can mean everything.

Too many children in England are still waiting too long for a permanent family.

There are around 1,600 more children in need of adoption than there are approved adopters available to adopt them.

This has increased by 52% in the past five years, meanwhile the number of approved adopters has fallen by 46%. This raises concerns that more children could face longer waits for a permanent family in the years ahead.

Through authentic storytelling, the campaign aims to challenge misconceptions around adoption, build confidence in prospective adopters and remind people that there is a family for every child.

Children in need of adoption are spending an average of 646 days of their childhood in temporary care - days that could have been spent with their permanent family and home.

That’s nearly two years, and for a young child, that is a huge proportion of their life. And in early childhood, every day matters. We believe there’s a permanent family out there for every child who needs one, they just haven’t come forward yet.

To bring this theme to life, You Can Adopt have released a new film that uses the power of numbers to tell stories of adoption. Adoptive families and talent will share the meaningful numbers that define their everyday family lives, before the film reveals the harder-hitting findings from Coram spotlighting the growing need for more adopters, shared by experts. Together, these stories show that while every adoption journey is unique, it is the everyday moments spent together that mean everything.

The video, and campaign, is supported by former Paralympian Ellie Simmonds OBE (adopted individual), The Traitors stars Roxy Hotchkiss and Judy Wilson (adoptive mother and daughter), and Sanam Fagan (former Love Island winner and Post Adoption Social Worker).
