A Welcome Home
The ‘A Welcome Home’ campaign is designed to inspire people to take the first step toward growing their family through adoption.
Adopting isn’t about ‘perfection’. It’s about being there, learning along the way, and ultimately giving a child a place to call home. And that home doesn’t need to be large or ‘perfect’ to be a warm and welcoming place for a child to find love, stability and belonging.
Like all families, adoptive homes come in all shapes and sizes. You can welcome a child into the heart of your home – whether that’s owned or rented, big or small, or whether it’s just you, a partner, other children or your extended family.
This National Adoption Week campaign aims to bust misconceptions, as almost 9 in 10 adopters worried that they needed ‘perfect home’ Latest figures show a worrying drop in adoption interest – with 12% fewer families stepping forward to register to adopt compared to last year, leaving 2,940 children in need of adoption.
The campaign aims to challenge outdated perceptions of modern adoption and bust myths – because like all families, adoptive homes come in all shapes and sizes.
Welcoming a child into your home is just the beginning. Just like homes evolve over time, so do families – so support doesn’t stop once you adopt. Ongoing support is available for adoptive families to guide you through every stage of your parenting journey.
There may be setbacks, ups and downs, but adopting a child in need of a forever home can bring the most unexpected joys.
At its heart, the campaign is about shifting perception: from perfection to possibility. From consideration to action.
This National Adoption Week, we’re celebrating the ‘perfectly imperfect’ family homes built through adoption.
